Collingwood celebrated 2022 World Book Day in style with all the children and staff dressed in a range of fantastic costumes of their favourite book character.
We also ran an afternoon of book related activities for all ages. The children moved around the school in their house teams being led by the Year 6 prefects and tried our puppet shows, treasure hunts, book quizzes and much more. The afternoon was also about fundraising for a new charity founded by a Collingwood family. We ran a ‘pre-loved’ book sale after school and raised an impressive £440 for the Dylan Strong Foundation, a charity set up to support families whose children have terminal cancer and other life-threatening conditions. We are looking forward to working with this charity more over the coming year.
