Nurturing bright futures

  • The six C's of Collingwood

The six C’s of Learning are embedded across all we do. By fostering the skills of Character, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication and Citizenship, we aim to lay the foundations for future educations and life in the 21st century.

  • Technology

  • Pupils are highly competent users of ICT and they have the opportunities to use their skills for investigative projects.

    — ISI Report 2019

We may encourage many traditional values, but we are undoubtedly a place that is looking to the future. Technology is embraced by our pupils as they are prepared for their futures, which will certainly be online.

  • Inspiring our children through the latest technologies

We incorporate Apple Education and iPad mobile technology in our classrooms from a young age. Every child has their own iPad device from Year 1 upwards and is taught step-by-step how to build their digital skills in a safe and responsible manner. Their learning is enhanced and enriched across the whole curriculum as they collaborate and grow utilising the latest digital technology. They are more than equipped for a new age of learning.

  • We may be a small school, but we are moving forward at the cutting edge of educational technology and our children are constantly inspiring us with their impressive skills and adaptability. Whether it is through the coding and debugging of Lego robots, the creation of their own websites or the designing of an ‘E-safety awareness’ game for younger users, our pupils are more than prepared for the challenges that an ever-changing digital world will bring.

Technology is transforming teaching and learning. It’s helping children learn at their own pace, [and] become creative problem solvers and effective collaborators.
