Extra-Curricula Activities

At Collingwood School we have a full programme of extra-curricular activities and clubs including:, Tennis, chess,  football, netball, rounders, cricket, running, gymnastics, touch type, orchestra, two choirs, drama, string group, major annual musical production (Senior Department) and annual Christmas Play (Junior Department).

The School was recently awarded an ‘Artsmark’ by Arts Council of England

We run annual visits to Paris and Boulogne and have a link with Ecole St. Jeanne D’Arc in Gagny
Each year our Year 6 boys and girls attend a residential PGL Outdoor Pursuits course at Hindhead   
Collingwood has won national recognition for environmental education
We run a full sporting programme including inter-school, area and national fixtures.
Pupils regularly gain places at county & national level in sport, recently swimming, tennis and cross country running.

Music
Collingwood regularly achieves success at Music Festivals and the choirs have released CDs of a wide variety of music.  One CD gained national recognition being national runner up in a competition sponsored by Barclaycard.  Over 50% of children learn a music instrument and the school’s orchestra and instrumental ensembles provide wonderful opportunities for children to learn to play together.  The school choirs have performed art London’s Royal Albert Hall and on ITV’s ‘GMTV Today’ programme at Christmas time.

Sport
Collingwood Children have gained country recognition in a wide variety of sports.  Pupils have represented the borough and Surrey in swimming and recent pupils have gained county status in cross country, running, football and athletics.  Collingwood always has a full schedule of sports fixtures which offer wonderful opportunities for healthy competition.

The Environment
Collingwood is gaining a national reputation for promoting environmental education having been regular prize winners in a national competition for a number of years.
