Friends of Collingwood

The Friends of Collingwood, formed in 1993, is an association which aims to keep past pupils, staff, governors and friends in touch with Collingwood and all its news.

At the very successful inaugural meeting in March 1993, there were representatives from Collingwood's past from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Kenya and France, and it was especially pleasing to welcome former Headmaster John Richardson and his wife Margaret.   Many had not returned to the School for 40 or 50 years!

Since the formation of the Friends, reunions have been held in 1994, 1997 and 1999.   At the last, there were particular celebrations to mark the School's 70th Anniversary, Mrs. Hollis having founded the School way back in 1929!  Present on that occasion were about 140 people, including members of the Hollis family.  The 75th Anniversary Reunion was held in June 2004.

Tug of WarA newsletter is sent out twice a year.  This gives news of the present school community as well as news from former pupils and staff.  It also gives details of school events to which all Friends are invited.

Membership is £5 for 2 years, £10 for 5 Years, or £25 for life membership.   We'd love to hear from all past pupils, staff, governors and friends - please contact us.
