Our Headmaster

Headmaster Chris Fenwick
Born in Carshalton, Chris Fenwick was a pupil at Collingwood School and completed his education at Culverhouse School in Essex.  After a career in the Royal Navy, Chris returned to full-time education in 1982 obtaining a First in History at the Polytechnic of North London and later reading for a Master’s Degree in Medieval Studies at Westfield College, University of London.
 
Chris’s first teaching post was as Head of History and later Deputy Head at Upper Chine School for girls aged 3-18 at Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. 
 
From 1995-97, Chris ran his own educational consultancy, advising independent schools in London and the South East on marketing and external income generation.
 
In April 1997, he took up the post of Headmaster at Hurworth House School in Darlington.  Hurworth House is a co-educational school for children aged 3-11 and for boys aged 11 to 16.
 
After twelve very successful years in the North East, Chris has returned to his roots to take up the post of Headmaster of Collingwood School in September 2009.  He is married with two grown up sons.
